The Skrypnykivka collection tells the story of language and the importance of preserving it. It tells of a period when all things Ukrainian flourished, when linguists from across the country created a spelling system and preserved the distinctive features of the Ukrainian language. Later, this spelling system, known as “skrypnykivka,” was banned by the Soviet authorities. They erased the true Ukrainian language from memory and use.

A voluminous T-shirt from the milk-colored collection. We have depicted book covers on it. Take a closer look: you will see fragments of “Skrynnykivka” in their titles. We are certain that we must revive and use the spelling system created to unite.

Pay attention to the books themselves and their authors: they were all active participants in the Ukrainian revival of the 1930s, and their works showed that Ukrainian literature can be modern and even create a global canon.
